American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC)

A tax credit of up to $2,500 per student for qualified tuition and related expenses during the first four years of postsecondary education. Partially refundable (40%), it phases out at modified AGI between $80,000-$90,000 (single) or $160,000-$180,000 (MFJ).
