Opportunity Zone (Section 1400Z)

A designated low-income community where investment of capital gains can generate tax deferral and, if held at least 10 years, complete exclusion of gains on the new investment. Created by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage investment in distressed areas.
