Cultural hegemony

Antonio Gramsci's concept describing the dominance of one social group's worldview over others, achieved not through force but through the diffusion of its values, norms, and beliefs throughout civil society's institutions. Cultural hegemony explains how ruling classes maintain power by shaping common sense and cultural assumptions.
