Exploitation

Taking unfair advantage of a power imbalance to extract value from others. In Marxist analysis, exploitation refers specifically to employers appropriating the surplus value created by workers. More broadly, exploitation occurs when one party benefits from another's vulnerability. Critical analysis asks: Who benefits, who bears the costs, and is the arrangement voluntary?
