IPO

Initial Public Offering - when a private company first sells shares to the public, typically on a stock exchange. IPOs provide founders and early investors an exit while raising capital for growth. The process involves SEC registration, underwriter selection, and a roadshow to institutional investors. Famous IPOs include Google (2004), Facebook (2012), and Airbnb (2020).
