Structural functionalism

A theoretical framework in sociology that views society as a complex system of interdependent parts, each contributing to the stability and functioning of the whole. Associated with Talcott Parsons and Robert Merton, structural functionalism analyzes social institutions by examining how they fulfill necessary societal functions.
