Underexposure

When insufficient light reaches the sensor or film, resulting in an image that is excessively dark with crushed shadows where detail is lost to pure black. Check your histogram for clipping on the left side. Correct by using slower shutter speeds, wider apertures, higher ISO, or adding flash/reflectors.
