Agnotology

The study of culturally induced ignorance or doubt, particularly the deliberate production of uncertainty by powerful interests. Coined by Robert Proctor, the concept examines how ignorance is not merely the absence of knowledge but can be actively manufactured through strategic campaigns of misinformation and obfuscation.
