Balance

The journalistic practice of presenting multiple perspectives on an issue fairly. True balance weighs viewpoints by their merit and evidence, not just giving equal time. Poor balance can create 'false equivalence' - treating fringe views as equal to expert consensus (e.g., giving climate denial equal weight to climate science).
