Dominant Strategy

A strategy that produces a better outcome for a player than any of their other strategies, regardless of what any other player chooses. Because this holds no matter what the opponent does, a rational player never needs to guess the opponent's behavior before choosing it — Polak's proverb is 'never play a dominated strategy,' its mirror image.
