Echo chamber
A social environment where people encounter only viewpoints similar to their own, reinforcing existing beliefs without challenge. Unlike filter bubbles (created by algorithms), echo chambers often result from active choices - following like-minded accounts, unfollowing disagreeable ones. Both phenomena make it harder to understand opposing perspectives or recognize one's own biases.
