Evolutionary medicine

The application of evolutionary biology to understanding human health and disease. Explains why human bodies have "design flaws" (back pain from upright posture on a spine evolved for quadrupeds), why we're vulnerable to certain diseases (immune system co-evolved with specific pathogens), and why antibiotic resistance is inevitable.
