Habitus

Pierre Bourdieu's concept describing the deeply ingrained dispositions, habits, and perceptions that individuals acquire through socialization within particular social positions. Habitus operates below conscious awareness, shaping tastes, bodily comportment, and practical strategies in ways that tend to reproduce existing social hierarchies.
