Information Operation

A coordinated effort by a state or organized actor to shape a target audience's beliefs or behavior through the deliberate production or manipulation of information. Includes the firehose-of-falsehood model (high-volume, multichannel, consistency-indifferent messaging aimed at exhaustion and doubt rather than belief in one narrative) and reflexive control (transmitting calibrated, sometimes true, information that leads an adversary's own reasoning to a conclusion the manipulator selected in advance).
