The initiated Sikh community founded by Guru Gobind Singh in 1699, bound to the five articles of faith (the five Ks) and to the sant-sipahi discipline of devotion, service, and restraint; after 1708, joint bearer with the Guru Granth Sahib of the tradition's religious authority.
