Shia

The minority branch of Islam, holding that leadership after the Prophet Muhammad's death rightfully belonged to Ali ibn Abi Talib and his descendants. Developed distinct theological emphases and jurisprudence (notably Ja'fari fiqh) from Sunni Islam over subsequent centuries, though both branches share the Quran and the Five Pillars.
