Theodicy

The problem, and the body of theological and philosophical argument addressing it, of reconciling belief in a good and all-powerful God with the existence of evil and suffering in the world. Named across multiple traditions this course studies, including Jewish post-Shoah theology and the transmission history of Epicurus's argument about divine indifference.
