Denisovan

An extinct hominin species identified in 2010 from DNA extracted from a finger bone found in Denisova Cave, Siberia. Denisovans interbred with modern humans — present-day Melanesian and Australian Aboriginal populations carry 4-6% Denisovan DNA, which includes genes for high-altitude adaptation in Tibetan populations.
