Humanism

A positive ethical and philosophical framework grounding human dignity and morality in reason, empathy, and shared human experience, without reliance on divine command as ethics's necessary foundation. Distinct from atheism or agnosticism, which concern the separate metaphysical question of a god's existence; most secular humanists hold one of those positions, but the humanist commitment itself is a positive ethical program.
