Structural coupling
In Luhmann's systems theory, the ongoing relationship between operationally closed systems that enables mutual irritation and adaptation without merging their operations. A constitution, for example, structurally couples the legal and political systems, allowing each to influence the other while maintaining its distinct operational logic.
