Priming

Exposing people to certain stimuli — words, images, sounds, contexts — so that they are influenced toward particular thoughts, judgments, or behaviors without realizing it. Priming activates related concepts in memory and shapes subsequent perception. Propaganda exploits priming by saturating an audience's information environment with stimuli that predispose them toward the propagandist's preferred conclusions before the explicit argument is ever made.
